This is where we begin working together.
First, please begin by watching this short video with quick instructions before you begin each step:
In this section, we would love to invite you to experience an aspect of our Soul Steps program, and what we like to call “breathing prayer.”
Step 1: Try a Breath Prayer Exercise
Breath prayer is a short, heartfelt phrase that you quietly repeat in sync with your natural
breathing. Rooted in Christian tradition, it’s a simple yet powerful way of praying with
the body, not just the mind. It invites you to slow down, reconnect, and bring your full
self—heart, breath, and spirit—into the presence of God.
Breath prayer isn’t reserved for quiet corners or long devotional times. It’s about creating sacred
space right in the middle of everyday moments—while washing dishes, driving, walking, or
pausing in the middle of stress. It’s a gentle reminder that God is with you, here and now, one
breath at a time.
Square Breathing with Prayer
Sit comfortably and close your eyes if you feel safe doing so.
Inhale through your nose for 4 seconds.
Hold your breath gently for 4 seconds.
Exhale slowly through your mouth for 4 seconds.
Repeat this cycle 3–4 times.
Now, pair your breath with this simple Scripture-based prayer (Philippians 4:13):
Inhale: “I can do all things”
Exhale: “through Christ who strengthens me”
As you inhale, imagine receiving strength.
As you exhale, imagine releasing fear, tension, or worry.
If Scripture feels unfamiliar, simply focus on the breathing and allow yourself to be present.
Step 2: Reflect on the Experience
After practicing, take a moment to notice:
How did your body feel before and after?
Did anything shift emotionally or mentally?
Was it calming, uncomfortable, peaceful, or neutral?
Once you have completed today’s reflection, please send an email to wellnesswalk@life4real.com sharing one thought or takeaway. Your email will be reviewed by a Life4Real team member as you progress through this course. This helps us ensure your participation and better understand how we can support, encourage, and walk alongside you during this journey.
Did you try the breath prayer?
How did it feel for you?
Would you like support or guidance in growing your spiritual life?
Congratulations!
You’ve completed another course in the Wellness Walk Program! Thank you for your dedication to reflection and working through past traumas. Taking intentional time for yourself is a critical step in sustaining wellness and resilience. We look forward to continuing this journey with you and supporting your growth in creating balance and care in your life.
