Day Six: Goodness (P3)

1) What Will I Do With the Goodness God Is Cultivating in Me?

Learning about goodness is only the beginning.

God does not simply want us to know that He is good.

He wants His goodness to become visible through our lives.

Ephesians 2:10 says:

“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.”

You were created to do good.

Not to earn God's love.

Not to prove your worth.

Not to appear better than other people.

But because God's goodness is being cultivated within you.

Goodness becomes a lifestyle of integrity, generosity, honesty, compassion, and obedience.

It is choosing what is right in both the public and private places of life.

Reflect:

• What does living a life of goodness look like for me?

• Where is God inviting me to practice greater integrity?

• What is one change I need to make?

2) This Week, Practice Goodness in Five Ways

1. CONFESS

Identify one area where you have compromised.

Bring it honestly before God.

Do not minimize it.

Do not justify it.

Do not hide it.

Simply tell God the truth.

Ask Him for forgiveness, wisdom, and strength to change.

Remember:

Confession brings what is hidden into the light.

Practice:

Spend intentional time this week praying:

“God, search my heart and show me anything that is not aligned with You.”

Then write down what comes to mind.

2. REPENT

Once you identify the area, ask:

“What needs to change?”

Repentance requires action.

Maybe you need to stop something.

Maybe you need to start something.

Maybe you need to apologize.

Maybe you need accountability.

Maybe you need to change a boundary.

Maybe you need to remove a temptation.

Maybe you simply need to make a different choice the next time the situation occurs.

Practice:

Identify one concrete action that will help you walk differently.

3. BRING ONE HIDDEN THING INTO THE LIGHT

This week's central action is:

Identify one hidden compromise and bring it into the light.

This does not mean you have to tell everyone.

It means you stop allowing secrecy to control you.

Bring it before God.

And, when appropriate and safe, bring it to a trusted, wise person who can provide accountability and support.

The goal is not humiliation.

The goal is freedom.

Practice:

Ask:

“What am I afraid would happen if this became known?”

Then bring that fear to God.

4. PRACTICE PRIVATE INTEGRITY

Choose one ordinary decision this week where you could easily compromise.

Choose integrity instead.

Return the extra money.

Tell the truth.

Keep your promise.

Do the work even when nobody is checking.

Walk away from something you know is wrong.

Honor the boundary you said you would honor.

Private choices build public character.

Practice:

Each night, ask:

“Did my private choices reflect the person I say I am?”

Do not use the question to shame yourself.

Use it to grow.

5. DO GOOD

Galatians 6:9 says:

“And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.”

Goodness is not only about avoiding wrong.

It is also about intentionally doing what is right and good.

Look for an opportunity to serve.

Encourage someone.

Help someone.

Give generously.

Tell the truth.

Defend someone who is being overlooked.

Show compassion.

Do something good without expecting recognition.

Let the goodness God is producing inside of you become visible outside of you.

Reflection After Practice:

• What did I discover when I examined the hidden places of my life?

• Was confession difficult for me?

• What did I learn about the connection between secrecy and shame?

• What changed when I chose integrity in a small decision?

• Did I notice any areas where I am becoming morally tired?

• What is God teaching me about goodness?

• How can I continue practicing private integrity?

Closing Prayer

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for Your goodness.

Thank You that Your goodness does not depend on my perfection.

Thank You that when I fail, Your grace gives me a way back.

Lord, search my heart.

Reveal anything that does not belong there.

Give me courage to confess.

Give me humility to repent.

Give me strength to choose differently.

Help me bring hidden compromises into the light rather than allowing secrecy to control me.

Teach me to live with integrity in every area of my life.

When no one is watching, help me choose what is right.

When I am tired, strengthen me.

When I am tempted to compromise for acceptance, remind me that I am already accepted and loved by You.

When I am tempted to hide because of shame, remind me that Your grace is greater than my failure.

Help me not only avoid what is wrong but actively pursue what is good.

Let my life reflect Your character.

Let my goodness point people toward You.

Create in me a clean heart.

Renew a steadfast spirit within me.

And let Your goodness flow through every part of my life.

Amen.

Declare Over Yourself

God is good.

His goodness is working within me.

I am a vessel of God's goodness.

I am God's workmanship, created to do good works.

My identity is rooted in Christ.

I do not need to compromise to be accepted.

I do not need to hide to protect myself from shame.

I choose confession over secrecy.

I choose repentance over denial.

I choose integrity over compromise.

I choose truth over lies.

I choose obedience over convenience.

I will practice private integrity.

I will do what is right even when nobody is watching.

I will not grow weary in doing good.

I will pursue righteousness and goodness.

I will walk justly.

I will love mercy.

I will walk humbly with God.

The Holy Spirit is transforming my heart.

God's goodness is becoming visible through my life.

I will allow His goodness to flow through me.
