What Does It Mean to Be a Christian?
1) Why can’t I just fix sin myself?
We might think, “If I just do better, I’ll be okay.”
But the truth is:
We can’t erase our past
We can’t be perfect
We can’t earn our way back to God
That’s why Jesus had to step in. He did what we could never do on our own.
Reflection
Have you ever tried to "earn" God's love or feel like you had to be good enough for Him?
How does it make you feel knowing that Jesus has already done what you could never do on your own?
2) What do I need to do?
Salvation is a gift that we all can receive and choose for ourselves.
To receive salvation and choose to put Jesus as Lord over your life, you should:
Believe that Jesus died for your sins.
Trust Him as the one who saves you.
Accept the gift of forgiveness and new life.
Romans 10:9–13 (NIV)
If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame.” For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile—the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

3) What happens when I accept this?
When you accept Jesus:
Your sins are forgiven.
Your relationship with God is restored.
You are no longer defined by your past.
You begin a new life with purpose and direction.

Choosing Jesus is one of the most important decisions you can make. If you’re ready to take that step today and follow Him as the Lord and Savior of your life, or if you’re ready to reconnect and renew your relationship with Him, you can say this prayer, either out loud or in your heart:
“God, I know that I have sinned and I can’t fix it on my own.
Thank You for loving me and for sending Jesus to die in my place.
I believe that Jesus rose again and paid the price for my sins.
Today, I choose to trust You and accept Your forgiveness.
Come into my life, change my heart, and help me follow You.
Thank You for saving me and giving me new life.
