1) What Will I Do With God's Love?

Learning about God's love is only the beginning.

Jesus calls us to live in love.

1 Corinthians 16:14 says:

“Let all that you do be done in love.”

Love becomes real when it moves from something we believe into something we practice.

This does not mean allowing people to mistreat us.

It does not mean ignoring boundaries.

It does not mean returning to unhealthy relationships.

It does not mean pretending that we were never hurt.

And it does not mean forcing ourselves to trust someone who has not earned our trust.

Instead, it means asking:

“How can I respond to this person and this situation in a way that reflects God's love?”

2) This Week, Practice Love in Five Ways

1. RECEIVE

Spend time remembering that you are already loved by God.

You do not have to perform for His love.

You do not have to prove your worth.

You do not have to earn your place with Him.

Sit with 1 John 4:18 and allow God's truth to replace fear.

2. FORGIVE

Think about one person or situation that still carries emotional weight for you.

Forgiveness does not mean what happened was okay.

It does not mean you have to trust someone again.

It does not mean there should be no consequences.

Forgiveness means releasing the desire to remain controlled by the hurt.

Ask God to help you release what you have been carrying.

“Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.” — 1 Peter 4:8

3. CONNECT

Identify one safe person in your life.

Take one small step toward authentic connection.

Share something honestly.

Ask for help.

Offer encouragement.

Listen deeply.

Allow yourself to be known.

Vulnerability does not have to happen all at once.

Sometimes healing begins with one small step toward safe connection.

4. GIVE

Choose one intentional act of love this week without requiring anything in return.

Send encouragement.

Help someone.

Listen to someone.

Pray for someone.

Offer forgiveness.

Give someone your time.

Love does not always need to be reciprocated to have value.

“We love because he first loved us.” — 1 John 4:19

5. CHOOSE LOVE OVER FEAR

When you notice yourself pulling away because of fear, pause.

Take a breath.

Pray.

Ask:

“Am I responding from love or from fear?”

Then ask God:

“What would it look like to respond in a healthy, loving way?”

You may not always need to move closer.

Sometimes love means setting a boundary.

Sometimes love means forgiving.

Sometimes love means speaking honestly.

Sometimes love means staying.

Sometimes love means letting go.

The goal is not to remove every boundary.

The goal is to stop allowing fear to make every decision for you.

Reflection After Practice:

  • How did it feel to give love without controlling the outcome?

  • What did I notice about my heart?

  • Did fear try to stop me?

  • What did I learn about God's love through the experience?

Closing Prayer

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for loving me with a love that I could never earn and could never lose through my imperfections. Thank You for showing me Your love through Jesus and reminding me that I am not defined by rejection, failure, or the way other people have treated me.

Lord, I recognize that fear, rejection, and past hurt have sometimes caused me to build walls around my heart. Help me recognize the difference between healthy boundaries and self-protection that keeps me from experiencing meaningful connection.

Heal the places in me that still believe I am not enough or that I must earn love. Help me believe what You say about me instead.

Teach me to forgive without ignoring what happened. Teach me to be vulnerable without abandoning wisdom. Teach me to connect safely with others and to love without requiring something in return.

Help me love as Jesus loved—with patience, kindness, humility, compassion, courage, and grace.

When fear tells me to withdraw, remind me that Your love is greater than my fear.

Help me receive Your love, reflect Your love, and walk in Your love.

Amen.

Declare Over Yourself

I am loved by God with an everlasting love.

I am not defined by rejection, failure, or the opinions of others.

I do not have to earn God's love.

I choose to release fear and self-protection that keep me from healthy connection.

I will practice forgiveness.

I will practice vulnerability with wisdom.

I will honor healthy boundaries while remaining open to meaningful connection.

I will love others as Christ has loved me.

I choose love over fear.

I choose connection over isolation.

I choose forgiveness over resentment.

I choose God's truth over the lies rejection has taught me.

I am deeply loved by God, and His perfect love drives out fear.
