Clothes Sorting

  • Every month we get together with our volunteers to sort clothing for the local communities and shelters.

  • A welcoming environment full of great conversation, a lot of laughter, and awareness on what is needed in your local community.

Care Bag Program

  • We assemble and hand out these care bags to individuals in our community and in bulk to our partners.

    It all starts with us taking time to look up and notice our surroundings.

    Many times we are uncomfortable talking to those we do not know or understand. However, to break down our own prejudices and biases, we must start with simple actions of kindness.

  • We recommend travel size for most items.

    *items we recommend for basic bag, others are optional.

    -Quart size or gallon zip lock bag*

    -pack of hand wipes*

    -deodorant*

    -washcloth*

    -bandaids/first aid kits

We have created our “Teams” Program to give you a self guided and paced way to learn more about the myths/truths of some very tough topics such as Human Trafficking, Sexual Violence, and Homelessness.

Everyone has a story. Many are misunderstood.

We want to highlight the truths, myths, and biases surrounding are friends in community that have/are currently experiencing injustice. Most of the time once we understand, we will “see” things in a different light. It is then many of us will take action to start making change.

We are highlighting short 1-2 minute stories to help open the door and bridge the gap that many of us have with our neighbors all around us experiencing these tough times.

BUSINESS/ORGANIZATION/CHURCH IDEAS

  • HOST CLOTHING DRIVE

    L4R can help your team to host a one time or ongoing clothing drive. Not only does this open the door for others to become a part of this fight, it is a great way to bring others together for the same cause.

  • COLLECT AND ASSEMBLE CARE BAGS

    No matter the event, you can collect items and have your team put the bags together. This is a easy way to raise awareness and to also know you are giving to those in need right in your own community.

  • DONATE FINANCIALLY

    Every donation matters. Last year we donated over 40,000 pounds of clothing and over 300 care bags to the communities and this year we hope to do even more!

    A financial donation allows us to provide support for essential services to thousands of individuals each year in shelters all over Virginia.

    Essential services include acute medical care, education, legal support, counseling and transitional housing.

    We also use contributions for our Essential Items/Snack Packs and Care Bags for our partners and communities.

  • HOST A REAL CONVERSATION

    Set a date and time and we will do the rest! These conversations will bring the basics of the topic of choice along with some great discussions from your team. Our hope is that everyone will leave feeling empowered to shear what they have learned and with the desire to what to know more.
